Recently, Riot announced updates, including adjustments related to the punishment mechanism for game-ruining and “toxic” behavior in solo queue. For those who may not know, due to game ruining and the toxic attitudes of some players negatively impacting the experience of League of Legends players, Riot decided that heavier penalties were necessary. This includes banning players from finding solo queue matches for a period of time until they complete 5 matches in other modes such as normal games, ARAM, and so on. And that’s where the problem begins.

Unlike some other games that also impose similar penalties, Riot is more “lenient” by allowing players to complete only 5 matches regardless of the results. As a result, ARAM has truly become a “battlefield” due to Riot’s mechanism. This is because this mode has a short match duration. Consequently, game ruiners will do everything to make matches even shorter by… feeding and feeding. This issue has become increasingly common since patch 13.19 was released, prompting the gaming community to “beg” Riot for quick adjustments.

One player stated: “I don’t understand why they implemented 5 matches instead of 3 (that must be) wins. It’s clear that game ruiners and those punished are just trying to win as quickly as possible, even if it ruins the experience for other players.” The frustrations of League of Legends players regarding Riot’s new punishment method began to surface early last week (when patch 13.19 was officially implemented).

Before patch 13.19, ARAM was a “safe” haven for players looking for casual fun, with virtually no “toxic” elements. However, as Riot managed to limit game ruining in Summoner’s Rift, they inadvertently transformed a beloved game mode into a nightmare for League of Legends players.
