For a player who has dedicated his entire career to competing at the highest level in the world of League of Legends like Faker, his understanding of the champions is not surprising. In fact, Faker has revealed that he meticulously reads every patch note from Riot for each version. This not only helps him understand the strengths and weaknesses of each champion but also allows him to deal with champions he doesn’t often use (from other lanes) competently during matches.

Recently, while reviewing the match between T1 and KT Rolster a few days ago, viewers were astonished to witness the “200 IQ” play from T1’s Mid Laner. The situation occurred early in the match, around the 9th minute. At that moment, Faker and his T1 teammates organized a counter-gank on 3 KT members near the Rift Herald area. However, Faker was attacked by Kiin and had very low health remaining.

Immediately, Neeko in Faker’s hands transformed into a minion. For those who may not know, upon transforming, Neeko gains a portion of health, but what’s notable is that Faker turned into a minion to reduce his hitbox (Neeko’s hitbox is 65 while a minion’s is 48). This not only helped Faker survive, but he also executed a beautiful Blooming Burst, allowing T1 to take down Cuzz.

Many viewers noted that only someone with an incredible understanding of the champion could calculate and execute such skills in a split-second situation. Additionally, quite a few expressed great admiration for Faker’s calmness in a tense moment. However, some also recalled a statement made by CuVee back in 2021, when the former Gen.G star admitted that Faker is the best player with the champion Neeko.

Faker may not currently have the reflexes to execute the “godly” skill combos as he once did. However, it is clear that his composure, experience, and understanding of League of Legends remain extremely useful, and thanks to these qualities, T1 has quickly regained their status as a contender for the LCK championship since Faker’s return.
