Levi’s old rival “lightly brings up the grudge” on the day of GAM’s reunion
One of the special points of the 2025 season is that before the 2025 World Championship officially kicks off, the League of Legends community will welcome the tournament named League of Legends Asia Invitational 2025, or ASI 2025 for short. This tournament is for the high-ranking teams from three Asian regions (LCK, LPL, and APAC) that cannot participate in the World Championship. Tian “teased” all five champions that appeared in the match GAM – TES at the 2022 World Championship.
Perhaps many VCS fans and GAM fans still remember, at the 2022 World Championship, it was Levi who, along with the champion Karthus, defeated Top Esports. Tian was then wearing the jersey of the LPL team and was the “loser” to GAM. That disastrous defeat against GAM officially stripped TES of their chance to advance that year and made Tian the target of LPL fans’ teasing as “the swimming teacher” from the 2022 World Championship until now.
Therefore, when it came to the ban-pick phase of game 1, Tian did not hesitate to tease all five champions from the TES lineup that were defeated by GAM in 2022 as a “warning” that he would not go easy. The fact that the two games demonstrated that Tian was very serious in this BO3. In fact, he even used his “favorite” champion Qiyana in game 2 to ensure a victory for WBG.

GAM’s chances of going far in ASI 2025 are very low
In GAM’s group, WBG is considered the weakest team that GAM could seek a win against. However, the match between the two teams revealed a harsh reality: GAM is currently too weak and clearly they need a strong overhaul. Therefore, ASI 2025 may just be GAM’s “stroll” before officially closing the 2025 season.
Since that match, Tian has also been continuously mocked by LPL fans.
After the defeat against WBG, GAM’s chances of at least getting one win have almost vanished. However, after a disappointing season, with a tournament that has been assessed as very difficult for GAM from the start, this result may not surprise VCS fans anymore.
