DWG KIA continues to show a relatively unstable face in the LCK Summer 2021. After the strategy of changing positions no longer proved effective, the reigning champion of the Korean League of Legends decided to return to the familiar 5-man lineup, with Ghost reappearing in the AD carry position in the match against Nongshim RedForce.
However, this AD carry’s performance against NS continued to cause great disappointment. DWG KIA, despite taking the lead in game 1, ultimately saw their opponents reverse the situation and defeat them with a final score of 1-2. And all Ghost could manage was a big fat zero.
In all 3 games, the AD carry from DK was completely invisible. Even in their sole victory, the major contributions came from Khan and ShowMaker, while their bot lane duo contributed almost nothing.
Right after the loss against NS, the DK management made a very surprising move by announcing the promotion of young AD carry Rahel from the academy team to the main roster. With this move, it is highly likely that Ghost will return to the bench after just one game as a starter.
His abysmal performance since the MSI 2021 is putting DWG at risk of losing their number one position in the LCK. And with what they are currently showing, it is also hard for them to envision a successful defense of their World Championship title.

For Ghost personally, DK promoting a young AD carry from the academy right after the match against NS shows a reality that his future with this team is at risk of coming to an end.
After DWG KIA’s 2020 World Championship victory, Ghost has still been seen as the weakest link in this team. Not only has he failed to improve his performance, but Ghost has also faced numerous complaints from the League of Legends community regarding his attitude, with the most recent incident being when he and BeryL mocked a female player who had just reached Challenger as a support, which left even DK fans extremely upset.
