As of now, it seems that most players of Teamfight Tactics are taking advantage of the current rank climbing and experiencing the available compositions, but their minds are already looking forward to Season 5.5. Of course, it will still take about two weeks for TFT Season 5.5 to truly arrive for players worldwide, but even now, Riot is leaking new information daily that keeps players eagerly awaiting.
In addition to the champions that will appear soon, players are also curious whether the item system will change. For those still wondering, today on the TFT Twitter page in the UK, there were some details about the item system specifically for the upcoming Season 5.5.
Accordingly, the entire Dark item system from Season 5 will disappear, replaced by a new item system called Radiant Item. These Radiant items differ from Dark items in that they will not require players to make any exchanges and, notably, they are extremely powerful. However, the most significant difference is that while players could own 2 or 3 Dark items at once, now each player can only possess one Radiant item.

Additionally, there will be a mechanism called Divine Blessing for players when their health drops below 40. However, it is still unclear whether this mechanism appears only once or requires any special conditions. Furthermore, it can be speculated that if the first half of the season is considered the era of the Forgotten, then from Season 5.5 onward will be seen as the counterattack of the Radiant Guardians. This is further evidenced by the name of Season 5.5 being Dawn Of The Heroes.

The replacement of Dark items (actually becoming rarer, with information indicating that Dark items will only appear in the selection round or personal shop) will certainly have a huge impact on the Forgotten tribe – as the strength of this tribe completely relies on having many Dark items. It is very likely that with the launch of Season 5.5, the Forgotten will receive a comprehensive adjustment to fit the gameplay of the new version.
In the upcoming days, Riot will surely provide more information to the TFT community, and it can be assured that this will be one of the most dynamic and exciting seasons yet.
