LCP Player Achieves “On Par with Faker”
After the victory against GAM on September 6, TALON, along with CFO, became the first two teams from the LCP region to qualify for the upcoming 2025 World Championship to be held in China. TALON’s win was not only surprising in terms of score (dominating 2-0 against GAM) but also because this team has shown inconsistent performance throughout the year. Additionally, this victory has helped veteran Maple achieve a milestone comparable to Faker.

With their qualification for the 2025 World Championship, and considering that Faker’s T1 has yet to compete in playoffs and secure a spot in the biggest professional League of Legends tournament, Maple has now matched Faker’s record for World Championship appearances, with both having appeared in this tournament 9 times. This is an achievement that is not easily matched by anyone.
Furthermore, all the players who previously had 8 World Championship appearances alongside Maple will be absent from this year’s tournament, including Impact and CoreJJ – two players who are still competing for Team Liquid. This is due to their recent elimination after a loss to 100 Thieves.

Meanwhile, VCS is Still “Lagging Behind” in LCP
In the early months of the year, VCS teams showed their strength, with MVKE and TSW achieving impressive victories against TLN, CFO… but currently, everything has turned around. CFO continues to dominate and is the only League of Legends team this year to participate in all three major Riot tournaments. Meanwhile, TLN has surprisingly “revived strongly” while VCS teams are increasingly struggling.

With the current situation, the future of VCS is in question. This is the first year LCP has emerged, and teams from Vietnam’s League of Legends are clearly at a disadvantage. GAM itself can no longer maintain its former performance. Even a veteran who seemed to have retired from the professional scene like Maple can still make VCS players “struggle,” which is truly alarming.
