League of Legends can now be considered a “national” game due to its widespread popularity around the world. And precisely because it attracts so many players, League of Legends gamers are incredibly diverse in terms of professions and personalities. Of course, it includes those players with very toxic attitudes, feeding without stopping, and ready to blame teammates at the slightest inconvenience.

Recently, on Reddit, a player spoke out to accuse their friend. According to the account named PlsStopPlaying69, this friend has been playing League of Legends for 8 years and plays about 4 to 6 games every day. He has been stuck in Iron rank and, notably, PlsStopPlaying69’s friend has a very toxic attitude, feeding dozens of kills each match and blaming teammates for not supporting him. However, this friend has no intention of stopping playing League of Legends, and PlsStopPlaying69 felt compelled to post on social media to seek advice.

However, the reactions from netizens were extremely mixed regarding this issue. Most leaned towards analyzing or mocking the “main character” of the post. However, there were also opinions suggesting that everyone has their way of experiencing games. Essentially, according to PlsStopPlaying69, he has been in Platinum rank, so he cannot match with his Iron-ranked friend. Therefore, the best thing he should do is let his friend play the game, and one day he will come to understand.

Your friend is not the smartest person. I don't want to offend him, but you've mentioned many things that made me do this. He has self-sabotaged time and again without learning anything. He acts out when you mention it because he fears people will think he is stupid. That is precisely the insecurity he is feeling. But you know what? Just let him play as long as his real life isn't affected.

If you really want to keep this friendship, try letting him play another game. Maybe something less competitive.

I don't think anyone has the right to tell someone to play this game or not play that game. Good or bad, it's their decision, and they will pay the price for it... Like being stuck in Iron rank. There's nothing to worry about. And, there are many people who never improve and want to experience the game in their own way. I've been in Challenger for 5 years with multiple accounts, and my brother started playing from season 7 but refuses to take any advice from me, often yelling that I should stop directing him how to play, like 'don't tell me what to do'... so I gave up, if my brother wants to stay at Gold rank... Well, that's his account, elo, and decision on how he plays. My brother likes to play the game his way, picking terrible champions like Illaoi.. So I understand and don't bother him anymore.

It can be said that being toxic and blaming teammates or not improving one’s gameplay is a choice for every gamer. And, Riot has created mechanisms for the League of Legends community to help improve the environment and gaming experience by reporting toxic behaviors that affect others. The choice is up to each person, and everyone will have to face the consequences of their choices, especially in a complex and diverse environment like League of Legends.
