In a newly released clip titled “#BringVCStoWORLDS | Let’s come together!”, GAM Esports has highlighted the challenges and efforts of the team to reach the World Championship (Worlds), while also calling on the community to create the hashtag trend #BringVCStoWORLDS.

BRINGVCSTOWORLDS

During the VCS Spring 2021, GAM was fully focused on winning the championship to secure a ticket to MSI 2021, but once again, external issues caused the VCS representative to miss out on the world stage. And now, the Vietnamese League of Legends scene has received bad news as Riot Games confirmed that Worlds 2021 will commence without the participation of 2 VCS teams.

However, this time it seems that GAM Esports is showing determination to seek one last opportunity for a ticket to Worlds 2021. According to shared information, the leadership of the team has been actively working with Riot Games over the past few weeks. They have contacted Riot’s team in Singapore to obtain invitations for GAM and SGB along with a sponsorship letter signed by John Needham, the President of Global Esports at Riot Games. With their utmost efforts, GAM’s leadership is leveraging relationships in Iceland to secure the necessary documents from the Icelandic government for entry and exit.

“GAM is trying to squeeze through a narrow door, seeking even the faintest hope to reach Worlds 2021.” – A spokesperson for the team shared. Additionally, the reigning VCS champion is calling on the entire community, esports enthusiasts in general, and League of Legends players in particular, to join hands in creating the influence of VCS on the international stage. In a media interview, GAM’s leadership hopes that this call will help Vietnamese esports gain more attention and support, ensuring that teams receive more favorable conditions for competing abroad. GAM believes that even if Vietnamese representatives cannot attend Worlds this year, the impact of their efforts will undoubtedly benefit the VCS in the future.

It is known that Riot Games has also sent invitations to participate in Worlds 2021 to GAM Esports, and possibly to Saigon Buffalo as well. According to statements from the leadership of these two teams, it seems that they had already prepared the necessary procedures, from applying for visas to Europe to finalizing the roster for the tournament. And at this moment, GAM is showing determination in calling for VCS’s return to the international stage after a long absence.
