As domestic leagues are nearing their conclusion and the League of Legends community is gearing up for Worlds 2021, debates are reigniting about who the top players in their respective positions are after a Summer split. While fans from the LPL region and even some forums from the LCK recognize Doinb as the best mid laner currently, given his undeniable skill and form, Perkz from C9 sees things differently.
During his stream, Perkz confidently stated: “The best mid laner in the world right now is obviously me. Only when you don’t count me does it come to Doinb.” Despite his confidence, Perkz acknowledged that Doinb is performing exceptionally well, and FPX’s displays so far have been nothing short of spectacular. Perkz believes that this team has clearly outperformed the rest of the LPL in terms of skill level.

However, this can be seen as both a challenge and a way to “motivate” Doinb since Perkz and Doinb share a very close relationship. In fact, at Worlds 2019, Doinb even made his wife Umi wait for three hours just to buy food for Perkz. Although Doinb’s FPX crushed Perkz and G2’s dreams of championship glory, their relationship remains strong.
As for Doinb, he is currently facing crucial matches to secure a spot at Worlds. While other regions have mostly confirmed their participants for the biggest League of Legends tournament of the year, the LPL—considered the most fiercely competitive region—still has no guaranteed teams. However, given their current performance, Doinb and his teammates are expected not only to secure a Worlds spot but also to clinch the LPL Summer 2021 championship.
