Peanut Sets an “Unforgettable” Milestone Against T1 at LCK
For those who regularly follow League of Legends, especially T1’s matches, it’s no surprise that their second Smite comes from the AD Carry position, Gumayusi. His precise damage calculation and perfect timing have led Gumayusi to successfully steal objectives even when T1 finds themselves at a disadvantage and their opponents still have Smite available. The early moments of the 2022 World Championship finals have now become a familiar skill of T1’s AD Carry. And this inadvertently “helped” Peanut achieve a rather unfortunate milestone.

Accordingly, Peanut becomes the first jungle player in LCK to still have Smite available but lose an objective contest to Gumayusi in two consecutive matches, specifically within the domestic League of Legends tournament in South Korea. Previously, Pyosik was the first player to have objectives stolen by Gumayusi two or more times in a single match (World Championship finals 2022) but this was on the international stage.

Peanut’s Situation Reflects HLE’s Struggles Against T1
As the captain and the most experienced player of HLE, Peanut seems to be lacking the coolness and composure needed at crucial moments. In a recent match, Peanut lost the Smite contest to Gumayusi even though HLE had completely shut down Oner, with only Gumayusi competing against Peanut, and “Little Peanut” still fell short against a Lucian whose damage to monsters cannot match the burst damage of Varus or the quick strikes of Jhin.

Since the formation of the team, HLE has always been a top team in both LCK and the international League of Legends scene, and they ended Gen.G’s championship streak last year, as well as recently winning the LCK Cup 2025. However, HLE’s continuous decline since the Road to MSI shows no signs of stopping, just like Peanut’s performance has yet to return to its peak while he is still leading the gameplay of the “Orange House”.
