As the community of League of Legends (LoL) knows, on October 17 (Vietnam time), the final matches of the Group Stage of the World Championship (Worlds) 2022 concluded. At the same time, Riot conducted the draw for the upcoming quarterfinal matchups. One of the most anticipated encounters will surely be Royal Never Give Up (RNG) vs T1. These are also two rivals with a lot of history, as RNG recently defeated T1 at the MSI 2022 finals earlier this year.

However, the situation of RNG is currently very difficult. The health condition of the RNG players is not good. Notably, in the return matches of the Group Stage, it is clear to see that the members of the “Royal Legion” are extremely tired and constantly coughing and struggling to breathe throughout the matches. This has also impacted their preparation for the match against T1.

Specifically, due to the players needing to recover from illness while also training, RNG’s schedule has been disrupted. This has affected the training schedule of teams that had already arranged scrims with RNG. When the preparation time is too short, other teams are also less enthusiastic about practicing with the “Royal Legion”. There have even been reports that, except for DWG KIA (DK), no teams at Worlds 2022 currently agree to scrim with RNG.

On RNG’s official website, many fans from LPL have expressed their gratitude for the “chivalrous” action of DK. There are also opinions affirming that DK always respects every opponent, and even though the LCK representative was defeated by RNG at MSI 2021, ShowMaker and his teammates remain polite when answering interview questions about their rival.

At Worlds 2022, both DK and RNG are facing tough opponents, and no one can say for sure whether they will advance to the semifinals. However, with DK’s enthusiastic assistance to RNG, fans (especially LPL fans) also hope DK will achieve good results and look forward to a clash between the two teams in the finals of Worlds 2022.
