Oner repeats a forgettable milestone that previously appeared in the LCK Cup 2026
Entering the match against Gen.G, it goes without saying that this would be an extremely difficult challenge for T1. Even though Gen.G has not been performing at their previous peak, they are still the “boogeyman” of the LCK and the reigning champions of the tournament. Therefore, T1 was predicted to have a “low chance of survival”. However, when Gen.G truly demolished the current World Championship titleholders and caused Oner to repeat this embarrassing milestone, it was likely beyond the audience’s imagination.

In both games against Gen.G, despite securing some kills, T1 as a whole showed almost no resistance. Oner – a player who is becoming increasingly important – failed to secure any Dragon, Baron, Herald, or even Void Abyss for T1 in both games. Notably, in both games, Canyon put Oner in 50-50 situations multiple times. Thus, Oner completely failed against Canyon in these scenarios.

Notably, this is the second match this season where Oner has achieved such a forgettable record. The previous instance was in the LCK Cup 2026 when facing DK. Apart from the matches where T1 dominated or situations where Lucid was taken down early, Oner lost 100% of the time against his younger counterpart in Smite contests. Clearly, Oner’s ability to time damage and engage at the right moment is problematic.

Oner and T1 Need to Address Their Issues
Since the LCK Cup 2026 Playoffs until now, T1 has only managed to win against HLE, who are still improving the synergy between new and old members. Meanwhile, against teams that have a certain level of stability, and even a similar playstyle (BFX, KT), T1 has suffered defeats. The most unforgettable loss is probably the Reverse Sweep against DK at the LCK Cup 2026 – a loss that perhaps even the T1 players themselves did not expect.

T1 needs to bounce back, and Oner also needs to regain stability and peak performance. The role of the Jungle is becoming increasingly critical, and they can no longer use a victory against the unstable HLE to justify that they are still performing well.
