One of the most notable names in the LCK Summer 2022 is Nuguri – who has just returned to DWG KIA after a 2021 season competing in the LPL. This is considered a signing that helps DK improve their weaknesses in the Top Lane position. The reason is that both names Hoya and Burdol failed to meet expectations, and the Top Lane position was seen as DK’s critical weakness last Spring.

Indeed, upon his return, Nuguri quickly adapted back to DK’s playstyle as well as that of the LCK. In the recent matches of the 2021 LCK champion, Nuguri can be seen as the standout player, rather than ShowMaker or Canyon. In the match against T1, Nuguri was the only player who demonstrated effort in every game. Unfortunately, his teammates played too disconnectedly, and DK was completely defeated by T1 after just 2 games.

Recently, Nuguri also offered many compliments to his junior – the young Top Laner of T1, Zeus. He stated: “DK is a team that always has the ambition to win the World Championship (Worlds). But I personally feel that I am not yet capable of helping the team achieve that. My goal is to show that I deserve to be in a team with the ambition to win Worlds. But frankly, my performance has many shortcomings. I am not yet the Top Laner deserving of winning Worlds. The player deserving to win Worlds right now must be Zeus. He is in his best form and is the role model Top Laner for me to learn from and aspire to.”

Although he is just a young player, Zeus has been performing very well throughout this time. Perhaps, as Nuguri said, whether Faker and his teammates can achieve something at the upcoming Worlds 2022 will depend significantly on Zeus. And so far, he has shown that he is worthy of the trust and expectations from his teammates and fans alike.
