If you didn’t know, according to Riot Games’ plan, the current 12.12 patch will last longer than usual by 1 week. Therefore, the time to test the 12.13 patch on the PBE server is also longer than usual, allowing Riot to try out more new “features” for League of Legends. However, not every experiment from Riot during this period has been welcomed by gamers.
Specifically, the gaming community recently discovered that the Curse of the Void item on the PBE server suddenly has the ability to deal damage 10 times higher than on the official server. The reason is that the damage dealt from this item will be calculated per activation of the effect instead of per second as before. As a result, while the displayed damage amount remains unchanged, the number of damage instances is too high, making this item extremely unreasonable.

One thing we need to remember is that in the current 12.12 patch, the Curse of the Void is already a strong item as it has the ability to deal percentage-based damage very effectively. This item counters many tank-oriented champions in the current meta, so fundamentally, it is not weak and doesn’t need any buffs at all.

Therefore, the buffing of the Curse of the Void to such a terrifying level can only be a game bug or (worse) due to Riot’s assessment that this item is still too weak. Hopefully, the unreasonable “feature” mentioned above of the Curse of the Void will only exist on the PBE server and Riot Games will remove it when the 12.13 patch officially launches soon.
