The beautiful idol causes a stir in the League of Legends community upon joining HLE
Recently, Hanwha Life Esports unexpectedly announced a new “rookie”. However, this is not a famous player but rather a beautiful female idol. Specifically, she is Lee Chae-young, a singer and member of the group fromis_9 – a relatively new music group in South Korea. Born in 2000, the idol draws attention with her stunning beauty, personality, and undeniable charm. Her personal Instagram account has nearly 1 million followers – an impressive number for a young idol.

Notably, many fans have even dug up a clip of her dancing to a TikTok trend. It’s just a simple choreography, but with her stylish outfit and bright smile, the idol easily captivates the audience. The outfit accentuates her figure, making her dance even more alluring.
Underneath the posts about HLE’s new “transfer deal”, many comments from the League of Legends community express a desire to switch to being fans of this team. Clearly, although it is still unclear what role Chae-young will play in the HLE team, many viewers have found that she has been playing League of Legends for some time, and her main position is Support.

HLE is not the first team to utilize female idols for image promotion
The recruitment of beautiful female gamers and idols for image promotion is not uncommon. Before HLE, teams both in the LCK and internationally have had similar deals. For example, the INTZ team from the CBLOL region once recruited female gamer Mayumi as a Support in an all-male lineup. Later, she moved to the LCS and joined Team Liquid.

It can be said that this is also a move to begin promoting the combination of idol culture with Esports in Korea. In the future, it is very likely that more female idols will join famous teams, with mutually beneficial deals in promoting their images and building fan bases.
