It seemed like the sweet dream of the rookie Percent Esports at VCS was about to end after their loss to Saigon Buffalo. However, in the recently held match, BigKoro and his teammates once again left fans “in disbelief” (though it’s not too surprising if you knew that commentator Hoàng Luân predicted GAM would win this matchup…), as they brilliantly defeated GAM Esports with a score of 2-0.
Key moments of the match:
It must be emphasized that before the match between Percent Esports and GAM Esports took place, Levi and his teammates were in extremely high form with two consecutive victories, while Percent, after their soaring debut, began to show weaknesses against SGB.
Nevertheless, the confrontation between the two teams unfolded in a completely illogical way, as Percent had a completely dominant game in Game 1, followed by incredibly stellar plays in Game 2, ending the unbeaten streak of the defending VCS runner-up with a 2-0 victory.
Notably, this match was marked by the performances of two former Saigon Buffalo players – traditional rivals of GAM: yT and BigKoro. While BigKoro clearly outperformed EasyLove in the AD carry role, yT’s performance was even more surprising.

The former YG player delivered an outstanding performance, although to be fair, much credit must go to the coaching staff of Percent, as they executed a very clever ban/pick strategy, choosing Malphite to counter Wukong in Game 1, and immediately picking the recently reworked champion (who lost his lid down the drain with 200 years of game development experience from Riot) – Volibear in Game 2.
These choices proved to be highly effective, as yT became an extremely solid frontline, along with a very simple and proactive initiation ability, allowing BigKoro to freely unleash damage from the backline. The victory over GAM also made Percent the first team in VCS Summer 2020 to defeat both the champion (Team Flash) and the defending runner-up (GAM Esports) of the tournament within just 3 matches. A dream start for the rookie team participating in the VCS for the first time.
