On May 10th, T1’s match against MAD Lions (MAD) at the MSI 2023 Play-In Stage officially took place. The representative from LCK convincingly won 3-0, sending MAD down to the lower bracket. Furthermore, this victory showcased the terrifying strength of Faker and his teammates.

Although T1 is a team comprised of many outstanding players, Gumayusi was the standout player in the recent match. In fact, this player was not taken down by the opponents in games 2 and 3, helping T1 to defeat MAD. Overwhelmed by Gumayusi, caster Quickshot referred to him as “Saint” to describe his excellence.
“Even though I am a caster for LEC, I can’t fault T1 in this match. They played exceptionally well and completely outperformed MAD in teamwork. Just look at how Gumayusi moves and deals damage. He truly is Saint Guma in this match,” Quickshot shared during the live broadcast.

In reality, Gumayusi started the match against MAD rather struggle, being targeted continuously in game 1. However, after T1 slightly changed their approach and focused more on Gumayusi in games 2 and 3, he played exceptionally well. He proved to be completely superior to Carzzy in both laning and team fights.

Gumayusi’s high performance is a very positive sign for T1 at this time. This allows T1 to comfortably implement strategies centered around the ADC, which has proven effective at MSI 2023. If T1 and Gumayusi continue to perform well as they did in the recent match, achieving good results at MSI 2023 is entirely possible.
