Currently, only a few regions like the LPL and VCS have yet to confirm which teams will head to Busan to participate in MSI 2022. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the LPL has been postponed several times, resulting in a later conclusion compared to the LCK. As a result, T1 players (the team representing LCK at the upcoming MSI 2022) have had more time to rest.

However, Faker and his teammates cannot completely take a break as they still have to stream according to the organization’s schedule. Nonetheless, this can be seen as a “break” period for the whole team before starting training sessions for the squad selection for the 2022 Asian Games. After that, T1 will have to embark on the MSI 2022 campaign with the sole goal of bringing the championship back to the LCK region.
Recently, the Eschart page – a site specializing in view statistics of the Esports community across platforms – released a new view statistic chart, covering from February 12 to April 2, which shocked the League of Legends community. Accordingly, Faker is the channel with the highest view count, specifically on the Twitch platform and among the audience from Korea. Faker’s average view count is 386.3k. This number is even higher than both the LCK and LPL regions, with 314.3k and 264.3k, respectively. Notably, the time period of this statistic coincides with the start and end of LCK Spring 2022. That means, even during the busy competition time, Faker’s views sometimes surpass the views of the entire tournament.

Additionally, in the top 10, there is another name from T1. None other than “Faker’s protégé” – AD Carry Gumayusi. The view count of the young star born in 2002 is around 197k, just over 10k less than the view count of the LEC tournament.

Of course, this is solely calculated on the Twitch platform and among the audience from Korea. However, it is undeniable the tremendous appeal of Faker, even at a point where the “Demon King” can be said to be on the decline of his career. With the success in Spring 2022, Faker is even more admired as he is the leader of the unbeaten T1 team. And soon, LCK viewers will surely look forward to Faker and his teammates maintaining stable performance to bring the MSI championship back to the LCK in this tournament held right in the land of kimchi.
