Ruler faces “bitter consequences” right before the new season
As we know, in the world of League of Legends in general, and especially among professional players, the regulations regarding conduct and behavior both in-game and behind the scenes are extremely strict. Particularly in the LCK region, the rules for players are even more challenging. However, there are still instances of violations of the code of conduct, and recently, Ruler – a well-known player with a strong personality and a “confrontational” nature – has faced “bitter consequences” due to his loose lips.

According to a recent announcement from Riot and Gen.G, Ruler has been fined 800,000 won (approximately 14 million VND). The reason given was for “verbal violence.” Notably, this violation occurred back in October 2025. At that time, Ruler had already been banned from chatting. However, it wasn’t until now, when Riot Korea checked a series of accounts from players in both the LCK and LCK CL tournaments, that they discovered the issue and decided to penalize Gen.G’s AD Carry.
Additionally, this penalty is quite “costly” because Ruler had previously been warned for similar behavior in March 2025. Since there was no severe punishment at that time, it seems that this time Ruler truly has to face the “bitter consequences.”

Ruler is always known for being a strong-willed player
Ruler’s “confrontations” are not toxic at all, and his straightforward personality, coupled with being one of the most veteran superstars of League of Legends in Korea, makes his somewhat excessive “toxic” moments more easily accepted. Not to mention that whenever he trash talks, Ruler does so without malice, and all of this has created the trademark of the reigning MSI champion AD Carry.

However, Ruler may need to be more cautious, especially in an environment where rules and professionalism are prioritized like the LCK, and Ruler definitely understands these challenges well.
