Information About the Tournament Compared to the “C2 of the League of Legends Community”
As is well known, the period from October to early November each year is when the World Championship (Worlds) of League of Legends takes place. This is also the largest international tournament of the year for the game owned by Riot. For the League of Legends community, winning the Worlds championship is greater than anything else, and it is the goal that any team or player yearns for in their career. However, in 2025, the League of Legends community may welcome a tournament that is being referred to as “similar to the C2 Cup in football.”
A new tournament appears for Asian teams.
According to information being circulated within the Chinese and Korean League of Legends communities, the new tournament will be limited to regions within Asia (LCP, LCK, LPL). In which, LCP will have 2 slots, while LCK and LPL will each have 3 slots. The tournament will be held before the official Worlds begins. According to the schedule being shared, this tournament is set to take place from October 6 to October 12.
GAM might participate.
No Official Information Yet About the New League of Legends Tournament
Although information is buzzing in the Asian League of Legends community, there has yet to be any official communication from Riot regarding professional League of Legends. However, if this tournament becomes a reality, it would provide an opportunity for teams that “missed out” on the Worlds to still have a tournament to improve their prize money at the end of the season. After all, if they do not participate in the Worlds, the season would end as early as September, making it a long time to maintain momentum.
Many fans mention T1 again.
Moreover, the new tournament will help League of Legends maintain its allure through competitions that extend from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. Currently, if this tournament can make a good “debut,” it may expand to other regions in the future and truly become a “C2 Cup of the League of Legends community.”
