MVK Sets a “Forgettable” Milestone for VCS, Causing SofM to Be Mentioned
Recently, in a match within the LCP Split 1 2026, MVK faced off against the low-rated team from LJL – SHG. Until now, no VCS team has ever lost to a Japanese representative, even during times when LJL teams used foreign players. However, once again, MVK has made a “forgettable” milestone: the first team in VCS history to lose to a representative from LJL.

Moreover, this loss has increased the disappointment in the VCS community, especially recalling that at the beginning of the season, MVK announced SofM’s return as a player. However, until now, SofM has yet to step onto the stage for any match. He also hasn’t appeared in a co-stream role but has been standing in the draft position for MVK and seems to be directing the MVK players as an “unofficial coach.”

However, part of what has drawn attention to MVK this season is their announcement of SofM’s return as an AD Carry. In fact, when that announcement was made, LPL’s Weibo social media was “shaken” because SofM is a highly favored foreign player in the land of billions. The fact that SofM still hasn’t played is testing the patience of many, with some even suggesting that MVK is “toying” with the audience.

Perhaps Only When SofM Truly Returns Can He “Save” MVK
Theoretically and practically, MVK is still in an acceptable position on the leaderboard. However, the current issue for MVK is the trust of the fans and SofM’s own reputation. It cannot be forced that SofM, after a long break, must immediately jump back into playing. But even when facing “easier” opponents, SofM still not playing makes it understandable for the audience to feel deceived.
