As we know, this afternoon – May 10th, MSI 2022 will officially kick off with the opening match between Saigon Buffalo and T1. Clearly, to prepare for such a major tournament, the players participating in MSI 2022 have to practice at an extremely high intensity, both in scrims and solo queue. Let’s take a look at the impressive rank climbing achievements of the teams ahead of this big event.

The first name that must be mentioned is definitely Evil Geniuses, as their players have an incredibly impressive rank climbing record. Specifically, both of EG’s AD carries, Danny and Kaori (substitute), have reached the Grandmaster rank just after about two weeks of battling on the Korean server. Other players like Inspired (Jungle) and Jojoppyun (Mid Lane) have also reached the Master rank.

All four of the aforementioned EG players hold the top four highest ranks among players participating in MSI 2022, with the other being Caps from G2 Esports. Another good sign for G2 Esports is that their AD carry Flakked has quickly climbed to the top 7 with a Master rank of 227 points. As for Jankos, he seems to be “joking around” quite a bit in ranks with only 1 point at the Master rank.

For the Saigon Buffalo players, Support Taki has maintained good form by being among the top 8 players with the highest ranks. However, AD carry Shogun seems to have struggled with consistency as he has dropped out of the top 10. It appears that Shogun’s rank climbing journey has been quite challenging, as this player had to change his in-game name to “tramkam” on the Korean server. Additionally, Hasmed from SGB has also climbed to Master, while Froggy has stopped climbing ranks for the past 11 days.

If you’re wondering why the T1 members are not on this list, the reason is quite simple: Faker and his teammates are not using the new accounts provided by Riot. Meanwhile, the statistics on Trackingthepros only track accounts newly provided by Riot for players. Clearly, with the “home ground” advantage, T1 members will use their existing accounts on the Korean server for practice.

Hopefully, with a full warm-up on the Korean server, the teams will bring thrilling matches to the audience on the opening day of MSI 2022 – May 10th.
