After several days of intense competition, the two most deserving teams, T1 and RNG, have finally made it to the Grand Final of MSI 2022. With their proven strength since the beginning of the year, this promises to be an extremely tense match where every mistake will come at a cost.
True to the nature of a Grand Final, the first two games in the clash between RNG and T1 were extremely balanced. In Game 1, RNG showcased their excellent team fight coordination, with Bin’s outstanding handling of Gwen giving them an early lead. However, in Game 2, Faker stepped up at just the right moment with his exceptional use of Lissandra, enabling Gumayusi to shine and equalize the score to 1-1.
In Game 3, the match took an unexpected turn as T1 was easily overpowered, allowing Wei’s Viego to snowball rapidly out of control. T1 quickly learned from this experience and prevented RNG from snowballing any further, gradually choking out and defeating RNG in Game 4.

In Game 5, T1 opted for a composition that was both difficult to play and hard to synergize in team fights. As a result, T1 struggled right from the laning phase when Faker was repeatedly caught in mid by Lissandra and Lee Sin. During team fights, T1’s champions, which were only strong in isolated engagements, completely faltered against RNG, and they had to accept defeat. With this victory, RNG successfully defended their MSI championship title by taking down another LCK representative.
