As mentioned in the previous article, on February 23, during the match of the 3rd week of the LCK Spring 2020 between SANDBOX Gaming and DAMWON Gaming, the tournament’s MC – Kim Min-ah was found to have a high fever above 37.5 degrees Celsius.

Immediately, the tournament organizers took medical checks and transported Kim Min-ah to the hospital for tests related to the epidemic.

At the same time, Riot Korea also issued a home quarantine request for all personnel present at the LoL Park venue that day, including players from the four teams KT, Afreeca, SANDBOX, DAMWON… Journalists working there as well as staff from Riot Games.

The quarantine request is confirmed to last until the results of Kim Min-ah’s tests are announced. In the worst-case scenario, if the MC tests positive for the epidemic virus, the LCK may have to be indefinitely postponed, and all related individuals will be strictly quarantined.

However, fortunately, NAVER recently announced official information regarding Kim Min-ah’s case, stating that she tested negative for the epidemic-causing virus, and her high fever was due to common health issues. Kim Min-ah will be allowed to rest for a while before returning to work.

Additionally, recently, Inven Global – a leading esports news site in South Korea also announced that they would not send reporters to cover the upcoming LCK matches at LoL Park.

This decision stems from the complex developments of the epidemic in South Korea; however, this information also means that for now, Riot Games Korea and relevant authorities still maintain the LCK schedule, meaning that matches in the 4th round of the group stage (from February 26) are expected to proceed as normal (unless there are further signs of epidemic spread in the coming days).
