LPL Fans Worried About Their Region’s Fate at 2025 Worlds
In the 2025 season, unlike previous years, new tournaments have emerged, one of which is the Asia Invitational 2025 (ASI 2025), humorously dubbed by the community as the “C2 Cup of League of Legends”. This is because the participating teams are those ranked high in LCK, LPL, and APAC but unable to reach the 2025 Worlds. However, after a series of days of the tournament, the results are raising significant concerns among LPL fans regarding the future of their region.

Specifically, throughout ASI 2025, LPL teams faced considerable challenges against LCK teams, and by the end of the group stage, only Weibo Gaming remained as the last LPL representative to face LCK teams. Notably, the three LCK teams (DK, BFX, and NS) are all inconsistent this season. NS even failed to win a single match as LCK 2025 entered the decisive stage.

Meanwhile, JDG and WBG are two names that were once considered strong candidates for the 2025 Worlds. However, in ASI 2025, regardless of the tournament’s nature, they performed very disappointingly. JDG even became the first team in League of Legends history from the two regions of LCK and LPL to lose to a VCS team (GAM) in a BO3 without winning a single game.
For LPL fans, this is extremely concerning. If JDG and WBG were once competitive with teams like AL, IG, or even TES, their absence from the 2025 Worlds was previously seen as an “accident” but is now viewed as a “possible forecast of LPL’s future at Worlds 2025”.

The Key is Still the Performance of LPL Teams at the 2025 Worlds
In reality, if AL or TES, and even IG can somewhat match up with WBG and JDG, then BLG is a clear outlier. Therefore, LPL fans can refer to the results of ASI 2025 for insights, but with BLG, it heavily depends on the performance of their key players, notably Bin and Knight.
