Gwen – The Wish Doll is the latest champion to join League of Legends as an AP Fighter in the top lane. In recent days, many players have been experimenting with Gwen and have shared a lot of mixed opinions. Generally, Gwen is considered a rather interesting champion but not particularly strong, needing buffs to compete with other hot picks in the top lane like Renekton, Sion, or Camille.

However, whether Riot buffs Gwen or not will have to wait until patch 11.9, as currently, Gwen has been found to have a very serious bug that could greatly impact the game. Specifically, a Reddit user discovered that her W ability – Hallowed Mist allows Gwen to avoid turret detection, even when affected by Mordekaiser’s Death Realm.
Moreover, even after Mordekaiser has been eliminated and the realm has vanished, the turret still does not target Gwen, allowing her to escape with just a sliver of health remaining, despite having no minions around.
This bug with Gwen is quite significant because if in a team fight or a solo gank, if a fighter champion like Gwen is not targeted by turrets, diving towers becomes incredibly simple.
Normally, abilities like Gwen’s W – Hallowed Mist cannot hide champions from turret targeting. However, in this case, it is clear that the turret does not take any action to attack Gwen, except for the initial shot when she had not activated her W.
Currently, Riot has not made any moves regarding this bug, but it is likely that in the upcoming patch, Gwen will be adjusted. This has almost become a “tradition” of Riot, as before Gwen, the champion Viego also launched with many bugs, leading to players crying out, to the extent that Viego had been out for a long time but was still banned from MSI 2021.
