Another earthquake has erupted at the LPL Spring 2020 tournament, as the only team maintaining an unbeaten record up to this point – Invictus Gaming, was completely annihilated by the new “wild card” of the spring tournament – eStar.
Both teams entered the match on Day 1 of Week 4 of the LPL Spring 2020 group stage with extremely high performance. While IG was still proving they could “do well” without JackeyLove, winning all 6 of their first games, the “super rookie” eStar was also impressive, having only lost 1 out of 7 matches played.
The excellent performance of both teams gave fans high hopes for a top-notch and brain-teasing showdown, but the reality was completely opposite. A one-sided destruction was established by… eStar, as this team created a terrifying statistical gap against the former world champion.

In 2 games, eStar completely crushed IG with kill scores of 17-2 and… 35-4, an unexpected margin, and also proof of the total dominance this rookie team displayed against a top championship contender.
In both games, eStar had to ban Kalista from TheShy’s hands. This shows that despite their high performance, they still had to fear the champion that is considered IG’s secret weapon.
However, it must be said that on the other side, the entire IG team had a relatively poor performance; they played disjointedly and lost, repeatedly making wrong decisions, ultimately paying the price with a humiliating defeat.

While eStar operated their strategy with great maturity, looking at the match’s developments, no one would think this team was just a rookie. They won against IG even in lane matchups, objective control, and teamfight setups.
This loss has officially ended IG’s unbeaten streak and caused them to lose the top spot to eStar, while the rookie team of the LPL is gradually revealing themselves as a formidable force in this spring tournament.
