For every player competing in League of Legends or esports in general, achieving all titles and earning the respect of the audience is perhaps the top goal. Along this journey, there are names who have accomplished this, even from a young age. They are hailed as some of the best players in their positions and continue to spark many debates within the League of Legends community. One of those names is undoubtedly TheShy, also known as “Top God” – a player from Invictus Gaming who claimed the title at the 2018 World Championship, ending the era of domination in the biggest LoL tournament by the Korean teams.

TheShy can also be considered a special case in the world of League of Legends. His performance has been quite erratic, due to both his own circumstances and past injuries. However, in 2023, TheShy once again led his team to the finals of a World Championship. Although he could not replicate past achievements, TheShy has once again demonstrated that he is truly one of the best top players of his generation and in the history of League of Legends.

However, recently during a stream, TheShy expressed his admiration for one of the most exciting and popular FPS games today – VALORANT. He stated: “I want to become a professional VALORANT player, but right now I don’t really understand the game. My knowledge is not enough. I do watch VCT. I don’t know how to play VALORANT, but I find the matches very exciting.”

In recent years, Riot has implemented effective communication policies, along with continuous improvements to VALORANT, which has helped this initially overlooked game gain more attention and compete better. In Vietnam, which has been selective about FPS games, the player base has started to grow day by day, and tournaments have received increased interest.

TheShy’s intention to “switch careers” may disappoint many fans. However, this could just be a casual sharing from the former IG star. After all, VALORANT’s competitive nature is just as fierce as League of Legends. Moreover, TheShy still has injuries and it is uncertain whether he is in his best condition, especially since VALORANT is just as competitive as League of Legends.
