At the LCK Spring 2024, despite their best efforts in the finals, T1 still failed to prevent Gen.G from claiming the championship. Subsequently, T1 explained that their defeat was due to inadequate preparation for the tournament, as they were unable to scrim, and the players lacked a good training environment. The reason was that the T1 team had been continuously targeted by DDoS attacks for an extended period.

A few days ago, T1’s management brought good news to fans by announcing that they had implemented DDoS protection measures. However, the joy of T1 fans was short-lived, as during a livestream test on June 4, they were once again attacked by malicious actors. Specifically, the teammates in T1’s ranked match were DDoSed and unable to complete a match.

It is worth noting that this issue had previously occurred during the spring season and caused considerable frustration. At that time, T1’s practice partners were also targeted by DDoS attacks, preventing them from scrimming or playing ranked matches. As a result, T1 struggled to find practice partners, fearing they would be sabotaged.
Sadly, this situation has returned and is haunting the T1 team once again. This could lead to T1 inadvertently being “isolated” without practice partners. This is extremely concerning as the LCK Summer 2024 is fast approaching, and T1’s opponents are all vigorously preparing for this important tournament.

Another noteworthy point is that the DDoS attack situation on T1 has been reported to have been around for a long time. The LCK Spring 2024 tournament itself has been heavily affected multiple times by malicious attacks. However, despite this long-standing issue, both the LCK organizers and Riot Games in Korea have yet to find a definitive solution to this “plague.” As a result, T1 fans have expressed their outrage towards Riot as the DDoS situation continues.

Around 2 months ago, Riot Games’ headquarters in Korea received flower wreaths from LCK fans due to their frustration with the DDoS “plague” ruining the tournament. If this situation continues in the near future, it wouldn’t be surprising if T1 fans, in particular, and LCK fans in general take stronger actions in the future to protest against Riot.
