League of Legends Player Discovers a “Once in a Thousand Years” Case Where Both Teams Lose

This may be the most absurd thing ever to happen in League of Legends.

As we know, in the MOBA genre in general and League of Legends in particular, there will always be one winning team when they destroy the base of the other team. Riot even implemented a feature called “Sudden Death” in the Clash mode to determine the winner/loser in case the match drags on for too long.

However, a streamer named Lightrocket2 recently discovered an extremely rare case that changed the seemingly unbreakable rule mentioned above. Specifically, Lightrocket2’s match took place yesterday – September 23rd, and this player used Taric in the jungle. Essentially, Lightrocket2’s Blue team had an overwhelming lead and destroyed the opponent’s Nexus in the 26th minute of the match.

However, at the moment when the match seemed to be over and everyone exited the game, the system notified Lightrocket2 that he had lost the match. The “stranger” thing was that when this player checked his match history on the U.gg page, he discovered that both teams had lost in that match.

Subsequently, the “bug saint” Vandiril downloaded the replay of the match to find out the cause of this phenomenon. After a while of “investigation,” Vandiril discovered that the reason both teams lost was that all players had exited the game using the Alt + F4 key combination before the Red team’s Nexus was completely destroyed.

According to Vandiril, if all players exit the game using that key combination, the match essentially disappears completely and has no result. At that point, the match history of the players in the match will automatically be marked as losses by the system. Vandiril also provided evidence that before this match took place, Lightrocket2 had 241 ranking points in the Challenger rank. This number was not lost after the aforementioned match even though he was counted as losing the match.

According to Vandiril's explanation, when all players in the match press Alt + F4 together, that game will disappear without a result

After this story, players who usually exit the game before the Nexus explodes should abandon this habit. It would be unfortunate if you were suddenly recognized by the system as losing, even though you actually won the match in a completely deserving manner.
