The LCP 2025 Tournament Has Issues Right from the Start
On January 17th (Vietnam time), the first matches of LCP 2025 officially kicked off, with 2 out of 3 representatives from VCS participating, namely MGNVikings Esports and GAM Esports. Although the results were quite different, both teams left a certain mark with their performances. If MVKE had been luckier, they might have celebrated a triumphant song.

However, LCP 2025 encountered serious organizational issues as both matches between MVKE and GAM experienced delays, causing the games to be postponed. While the matches eventually continued as planned, both games extended to three sets and, being in the evening, left both the audience and the commentators in Vietnam feeling exhausted.
Even the players seemed to be worn out as the tense matches required them to wait quite a long time. Many viewers even compared the quality of LCP 2025 on its opening day to not being much better than that of VCS.

VCS Viewers Compare LCP 2025 to Domestic Tournaments
On various forums for League of Legends in Vietnam, numerous VCS viewers compared the quality of LCP 2025 to the Vietnamese League of Legends tournament. This is largely because many matches in 2023-2024 were frequently delayed. In fact, some matches extended from the afternoon until midnight, leaving everyone both exhausted and frustrated.
“I can’t believe that LCP 2025 is just like VCS, also facing delays,” one opinion noted. Another viewer stated: “Tournaments like MSI, Worlds, or LCK, LPL also experience delays. But at least minimize the issues. Both matches on opening day were delayed.”

However, it might be due to the first day of the tournament and also the debut of LCP 2025 in the professional League of Legends scene, so many factors are not yet fully resolved. The audience may have to wait a bit longer for Riot and the LCP organizing committee to improve in the near future.
