As we know, recently, T1 had to participate in the Esports World Cup 2024 in Saudi Arabia and the total duration was nearly a week. T1’s performance at the tournament was very good as they managed to win the championship despite facing very strong opponents, including Bilibili Gaming – a team that has defeated T1 multiple times, and Top Esports – the team that took down the reigning MSI 2024 champion Gen.G. T1’s achievement came with a substantial prize money and their first title of 2024, but it also made this team a “victim” of the LCK.

Accordingly, no one understands why the LCK organizers did not adjust the schedule for T1 after knowing that T1 had to participate in the EWC 2024. Specifically, T1 finished their last match in the early hours of July 8 (Vietnam time). After completing their rest activities, the team also headed back to Korea (possibly on the evening of July 9 or the morning of July 10). However, upon arriving at the airport, instead of getting rest to recover from the long flight of over 8000 km, T1 had to immediately move to LoL Park to prepare for the match against OKSavingsBank BRION.

No one can explain why the LCK organizers have scheduled T1’s matches so tightly. Even Faker, after the tough match against OKBRO, had to affirm: “Never in the past 10 years have I had to play a match right after just getting off the plane. This is a first-time experience, I think.” In fact, some viewers even believe that the LCK organizers might have no confidence that T1 could win the EWC 2024, which is why the schedule was set so tightly. The EWC 2024 project was announced even before the MSI 2024 concluded. Thus, there is no reason why the LCK organizers could not know when the final match of League of Legends at the tournament in Saudi Arabia would take place.
Currently, the LCK organizers have not made any statements regarding the incident. The match against OKBRO has ended with a favorable result for T1. Therefore, some opinions suggest that the incident may “go under the radar” like many other cases in the past.
