The LCK top 2 battle between T1 and HLE may be decided
With the new group stage format of LCK this year, teams in each group will face their opponents 3 times before securing a playoff spot. Currently, it seems that most of the League of Legends community is just waiting to see which team will secure the second place in the Legend group between HLE and T1. However, HLE has a tougher schedule than their rival this week.
Specifically, HLE will face Gen.G once again before the end of the group stage. Since the Road to MSI 2025, HLE has lost every match to the reigning MSI champions. Moreover, the fluctuating performance of the players has made it difficult for HLE despite having secured a consolation win against Gen.G a few days ago.
If HLE continues to lose to Gen.G, with T1 winning both matches (against the weaker teams KT and NS), T1 will automatically move to second place in the standings before the final week of the group stage Rounds 3-5. Furthermore, T1 holds the power of decision as they still have one match left against HLE in the final week. If they maintain their good results, T1 will successfully defend the second position even if they lose to Gen.G afterwards.
The Rise group battle is just as intense with only DK guaranteed a spot in the Play-ins. All three teams OKBRO, DRX, and FOX still have a chance. Surprises may continue to unfold in these last two weeks of matches.
