T1 Needs to “Open Their Eyes”
Before stepping into the match against KT, T1 had only lost once to Gen.G since the start of Rounds 3-5, having defeated all other opponents in the Legend group. In fact, T1’s loss could be seen as a shock, as both fans and experts did not hold high expectations for a KT team that has been quite inconsistent. However, on a day when KT played what could be considered their best match to date in 2025, T1 suffered a humiliating defeat. But from a positive perspective, this loss could be necessary.
Prior to the match against KT, T1 had played two matches against HLE and NS. In both games, T1 allowed the opponents to make some very strong picks. Perhaps T1 wanted to find ways to counter, but it could also be that they were somewhat complacent. While the team was cautious against HLE, that attitude seemed to completely disappear in the match against NS and KT. In fact, during the game against KT, no one saw the “slow but steady” T1 that gradually gained the advantage and snowballed like they did against HLE.
In the matches against HLE and NS, T1 still managed to win, so overall, everything looked fine theoretically and in terms of results. But against KT, all of T1’s weaknesses were exposed, and that is something that T1 needs to be alerted to before entering the even more important playoffs.
T1’s Loss is Not Good but It’s Not a Disaster
In reality, T1’s loss showcases all the weaknesses of this team, but it is not a disaster. After all, T1’s position in third place is hard for anyone to take away, and they are just looking to compete for the top two spots. Therefore, in terms of results, not much has changed.
Furthermore, the most important goal remains the championship title. And perhaps, one loss is enough for T1 to reflect. Not to mention, according to most opinions, compared to 2024, the current results are still quite good, so T1 fans should not be too panicked.
