After the “cyberbullying” scandal involving a female streamer, LPL male player “var” takes another shot at Faker
A few days ago, the LPL community, as well as the League of Legends scene in general, was “shaken” by an incident involving a group of LPL players engaging in harassment and cyberbullying against a female streamer simply due to differing opinions. The incident drew attention as among the “offenders” was Shanks – the rising Mid Laner of AL. However, recently, Icon – the player believed to be the “ringleader” of this cyberbullying incident – caused more trouble by “var-ing” Faker live on stream.

Specifically, the male player accused Faker of previously reminding him about smoking in public. At that time, Icon was participating in the World Championship under the banner of LNG Esports, and this former player brought up the incident with a rather unpleasant attitude. However, instead of receiving support from fans in his region, Icon faced widespread criticism on his stream and across social media platforms in both China and internationally.

– Smoking in public is rightly called out. It’s been a long time since that incident, so what’s the point of bringing it up now?
– But Iceland has a ban on smoking in public, right?
– Just like people often say, if you go on stream and have few viewers, just attach Faker’s name to it.
– You attacked a female streamer, and now you’re trying to “var” the “G.O.A.T”?
Notably, Icon is the first player in the professional League of Legends scene to publicly smoke in front of an audience. There have even been instances where his smoking was recorded, and Icon showed no intention to hide it.

Icon’s story highlights Faker’s professional demeanor
On another note, it’s evident that Faker always conducts himself as professionally as possible, both in-game and in real life. Moreover, many believe that if it was Faker who reminded him and then the tournament organizers followed up, then at least the situation was not out of control. Instead of “var-ing” Faker, Icon should have been thanking the superstar of T1 before his own violations went too far.
