During MSI 2022, Jankos and G2 Esports achieved a spot in the semifinals. In their semifinal match against T1, G2 lost with a score of 0-3. However, this was still considered a fairly successful tournament for Jankos and his G2 teammates. Ahead of the Spring 2022 season, they were not highly rated after parting ways with several “former legends.” Yet, G2 went on to win the LEC Spring 2022 and surprised many at MSI 2022 in Busan.

Jankos himself performed very well in the first half of the 2022 season. Together with his longtime teammate CaPs, Jankos seemed to be “revitalized” and made significant contributions to G2’s championship as well as their journey at MSI 2022. Additionally, he caught the community’s attention due to his dating rumors with female streamer Plumy during G2’s participation at MSI.

Recently, Jankos shared his insights on practicing at MSI 2022, particularly with teams from the North American region. He stated: “Perhaps practicing with teams from North America is the worst idea we ever had. Of course, it’s not entirely useless, as with teams like Evil Geniuses, they are not as bad as European teams. Therefore, you can still have some good matches. But I’m not sure about other North American teams. On the other hand, EG also doesn’t want to practice with us. I don’t know why. Maybe they don’t want to get completely beaten in scrims by us? I just don’t understand.”

It can be said that with Jankos’s revelation, he implicitly affirmed that compared to the LEC, the skill level of the North American region is not quite good at this moment. In fact, according to Jankos, perhaps only EG is capable enough to practice with G2. However, even EG does not want to scrim with the European representatives, and one of the reasons Jankos speculates is because of the “fear of losing.”

Nevertheless, MSI 2022 has concluded, and the performances of the teams reflect their current strengths. At the upcoming 2022 World Championship, both EG and G2 will have to work hard to hope for a spot in San Francisco and achieve high results in this tournament.
