Baron Nashor, commonly referred to as Baron, has always been the most important objective in League of Legends. Despite numerous adjustments over the years, it remains the best buff to help your team secure a victory. In professional tournaments, losing Baron can feel just as bad as losing a team fight, and the risk of a comeback loss is incredibly high.

In theory, everyone knows that securing Baron is crucial for victory; however, not many players understand the best way to do it. Besides the common knowledge of warding around the Baron pit and destroying the Explosive Seed to prevent opponents from accessing it easily, the order in which your champions attack this monster is also extremely important.
Recently, a gamer posted on Reddit about this issue after witnessing numerous instances of poorly executed Baron attacks leading to stolen objectives and subsequent losses. Notably, this issue occurs not only in solo queue but also in major tournaments like the World Championship and MSI.

A small note for players using tank/support champions and damage-dealing carries regarding Baron’s passive
Baron’s Gaze: Baron will take 50% reduced damage from the unit that has attacked it the most in the last 8 seconds.
Therefore, if you aim to take down Baron as quickly as possible, after doing important tasks like warding and scouting around the Baron pit, you should be the first to attack Baron.
For damage-dealing champions, don’t attack Baron right away; wait 3-5 seconds for your teammates to hit Baron and receive that passive instead of you.
I’ve seen many players attack Baron incorrectly, not only in solo queue but also at high levels like the World Championship and MSI, resulting in throwing Baron away. Good luck with that.

Without even mentioning major tournaments like the World Championship or MSI, during the recent match between EVOS Esports and Team Flash, the “White Tiger” team also lost Baron. The primary reason was that one of their carries, Zeros, was too hasty and attacked this objective first. This caused Zeros to receive the aforementioned debuff from Baron, significantly reducing their damage when trying to take the objective, allowing Team Flash to steal it.

Perhaps gamers should remain a bit calmer when taking Baron, allowing champions with less damage to attack this monster first and receive its debuff, rather than having the carry attack first thinking it would be faster, but in reality, it results in much slower takedowns.
