In the LCK Summer 2023 qualifiers, the Losers Finals match between KT Rolster (KT) and T1 holds immense significance. The team that wins this match will secure the second ticket to the upcoming World Championship (Worlds 2023) after Gen.G. Therefore, theoretically, both KT and T1 will surely unleash all strategies prepared beforehand to claim victory.

However, contrary to the audience’s expectations, KT has been quite humble in front of the media when discussing this match. In fact, KT’s coach Hirai has not set a victory goal for the upcoming rematch with T1. Instead, this team is only focused on improving their performance compared to the previous match.
“T1 with a full roster is indeed a strong opponent in important matches. Although this is a strong opponent, we (KT) will continue to do our best in the next match. The whole team aims for a better performance than the previous loss against T1. If we can achieve that, our chances will be slightly higher,” Coach Hirai shared.

Indeed, after Faker’s return, the T1 team has performed much better and no longer experiences the “lost” state in matches. Furthermore, Faker’s presence has significantly boosted the confidence of the entire team, allowing them to overcome difficult matches. The previous match against KT is a clear example where T1 secured a crucial victory despite trailing early in the game.

Perhaps for this reason, KT has only set the goal of performing better than their previous loss to T1. With their current form, it is entirely possible for KT to seek a ticket to Worlds 2023. Hopefully, KT’s players can maintain a comfortable mindset and deliver a top-notch match against T1.
