A few days ago, the LPL Summer 2022 officially kicked off with the opening match between Weibo Gaming and Invictus Gaming. In this match, although WBG faced some struggles in game 2, overall, they had a very solid debut and achieved their ultimate goal of victory. Additionally, SofM and his teammates showcased many new and creative ban/pick strategies compared to their Spring 2022 performance.
Notably, the two players who can be considered the biggest contributors to WBG’s victory are TheShy and Angel. While Angel overcame his weakness with the champion Ahri in Spring 2022, TheShy proved to be quite effective with the champion Kayle. The “Top God” showed his prowess when, despite losing with Kayle in game 2, he chose this champion again in game 3 and performed much better.

However, even being the standout star in WBG’s victory against IG, TheShy still faced criticism. Specifically, while watching the stream of the WBG – IG match, legend Uzi had some remarks about the two teams. He particularly disagreed with TheShy’s choice of Steelcaps for Kayle in game 3 despite having many advantages at that point. According to Uzi, this playstyle was far too safe and completely unnecessary, especially when TheShy was clearly ahead of his opponents from IG.

However, this caution may have been necessary for TheShy in a professional match. After all, WBG had lost the previous game, and part of the blame fell on TheShy’s Kayle being ganked too much. Perhaps that’s why “Shy ca” wanted more assuredness to guarantee victory for WBG. This is completely understandable.

Uzi is used to a playstyle supported by his team, allowing him to play aggressively if he feels he has more advantages over his opponent. However, TheShy does not always have that luxury, so his caution, especially in such an important debut match, is nothing to be overly critical about.
