T1’s Convincing Victory
On August 24, T1 officially kicked off their campaign to conquer the LCK Summer 2024 title with a fateful encounter against KT. Dubbed the “Telecom War,” the match started relatively lively as T1 took the lead in the first game, but KT quickly equalized in the next. However, T1 completely dominated KT in games 3 and 4 to clinch a final victory with a score of 3-1.

Besides the result, T1 also demonstrated a tactical superiority, especially in the pick/ban phase. While T1 players were very flexible in choosing champions and strategies in each game, KT relied too heavily on certain champions. Notably, they picked Renekton in all four games and utilized Smolder in 3 out of 4 games in this match. This made KT vulnerable to being read and ultimately led to a bitter defeat.

Keria Reveals the Reason for Choosing Lee Sin Support
For viewers who regularly follow T1’s matches, the team’s use of “unusual” champions is nothing new. However, in the recent match, T1 took it to another level with an even more unusual pick: Lee Sin Support in the hands of Keria. According to LCK statistics, Keria brought Lee Sin Support back to the tournament after a whopping 776 days. Therefore, as soon as the match ended, the attention of the Korean press turned to Keria, raising many questions about his choice of Lee Sin.

“Previously, I had answered in an interview that the new T1 Lee Sin skin is really beautiful. However, many fans seemed not to believe my words. So I chose this skin during the match to prove to everyone that what I said was true. Personally, I think this skin is extremely beautiful and worth the money spent,” Keria shared with the press after the match.

It should be noted that with world champion skins, the teams and players who are honored also receive a share of the profits from Riot. For this reason, Doinb has often expressed regret for choosing Malphite as his champion skin due to its low sales. Keria and the T1 team certainly understand this, so it makes sense for them to utilize a game in the recent clash against KT to “advertise” the T1 Lee Sin skin.

Fairly speaking, although he lost in that game, Keria still delivered an acceptable performance with Lee Sin. In fact, Keria’s smooth and effective plays even led T1 to a winning skirmish in the Void Rift at the 11th minute. Therefore, it wouldn’t be surprising if Keria continues to use Lee Sin in upcoming matches and helps T1 advance far in the LCK Summer 2024 playoffs.
