Gumayusi has impressive stats but reveals a somewhat “unfair” playstyle at T1
For an ADC, having many kills in a match is almost essential. In fact, teammates will often prioritize giving kills, especially when the opponent has strong AD carries as well. This is the playstyle of most professional League of Legends teams, but perhaps T1 – Gumayusi is the exception.
Accordingly, the community has discovered that in the last 200 games, Gumayusi has only had 3 matches where his total kills exceeded 10. Setting aside factors such as strong opponents or quick match endings, it is clear that Gumayusi does not receive many kills from his teammates.

Looking at the current substitute for Gumayusi – Smash, in the match against Gen.G, this young player had 2 games with over 10 kills. And fans may not forget the image of Keria even willing to cancel his animation to give a kill to Smash.

If we look at a former teammate of Gumayusi, Zeus, except for the games where he uses tank champions, T1 either loses or wins too quickly, Zeus has more games with 10 or more kills than Gumayusi by 1 game.
Looking at the ADCs from T1’s opponents (Dplus KIA, Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports, KT Rolster), names like Viper, Ruler, or Peyz, Aiming all have at least 15 games with 10 or more kills in their last 200 games.

For T1, winning is everything, but perhaps it’s time to change for Gumayusi
Clearly, the LCK Cup 2025 has shown that T1 can effectively play with the “all for ADC” style. But they haven’t done so with Gumayusi for a long time. The player born in 2002 also deserves the same support that T1 is giving to Smash.

And the fans will also see whether T1 will play for Gumayusi as they are showing with Smash. It’s very likely that new “waves” will continue if T1 does not change anything with the ADC who helped them win the World Championship twice in a row.
