Keria Explains the “Unconventional Build” that Helped T1 Win
The support position in the professional League of Legends scene often suffers from a lack of economic resources. Therefore, players must choose their items very carefully to avoid wasting their limited gold. However, in the first game of the match between T1 and Gen.G recently, Keria opted for a highly situational item, Mikael’s Crucible, as his first choice. This decision raised many questions among viewers and experts alike.

Explaining the “unconventional build” mentioned above, Keria revealed that he was inspired by watching JDG’s player Missing compete. “A few weeks ago, I watched LPL and saw Missing build this item first, so I applied it in some scrims. The results were quite good as this item counters the opponent’s crowd control-heavy composition, allowing the support champion to play much more aggressively. This fits perfectly with my playstyle, so I chose to buy Mikael’s Crucible in the last match,” Keria shared.

Indeed, looking back at Gen.G’s composition in that match, featuring Elise, Varus, and Maokai, viewers can see that Mikael’s Crucible is a powerful counter item. In numerous situations, Keria, playing Poppy, charged into Gen.G’s formation, applying crowd control on the opponents while still emerging “unscathed” thanks to this item. Clearly, when Keria attracted a lot of Gen.G’s dangerous skills without being taken down, his teammates could attack the opponents much more freely.

Ruler’s Pain from Losing to T1 is Further Salted
It’s worth noting that during his two years at JDG, Ruler and Missing were extremely close teammates. Additionally, Missing is currently soaring with JDG while Ruler just faced a bitter defeat against T1. Therefore, when Keria shared that the “unconventional build” he learned to defeat Gen.G came from none other than Missing, Ruler’s sadness only deepened.

Not stopping there, the support player currently playing with Ruler – Duro – also had a relatively poor performance. This further leads viewers to believe that Ruler is really “missing” his close former teammate Missing after the recent defeat. Perhaps if Duro and the entire Gen.G team cannot improve their performance in the upcoming playoffs, it will be difficult for them to secure the LCK title as other rivals like DK, T1, HLE… are all advancing rapidly.
