Kicking off the third week of the LCK Summer 2024 are the power displays from T1 and Gen.G, the two teams currently leading the tournament. Gen.G remains undefeated with their fifth consecutive win after overcoming HLE with a score of 2-0. T1 also swiftly defeated DRX with the same result, thanks to the brilliant performances of Gumayusi.

In their next match, T1 will face KT in a clash dubbed the “Telecom Showdown.” Moreover, this encounter is particularly special as it will take place at T1’s home ground, a first in LCK history. This is sure to be the highlight match of the third week of LCK Summer 2024. Recently, Gumayusi even heated up this spotlight match by sending a “battle letter” to KT’s Deft.
“Today, the whole team played very well, and I feel I scored 9.5/10 with my performance today. In the next match, we will meet KT at home. Deft is an experienced AD Carry who trains very hard. It would be exciting if he and I could face off in a match where both play carry champions,” Gumayusi boldly challenged Deft.

As of now in LCK Summer 2024, KT is experiencing a disappointing streak with four consecutive losses. Specifically for Deft, he has shown quite low performance levels. He currently holds extremely low stats such as 8 minions per minute (CSPM), a KDA of 1.9, and 371 gold earned per minute (GPM). Moreover, the champions Deft has been using are mostly support-oriented characters like Ashe, Senna, and Kalista (Critical Damage). Therefore, playing a carry champion as Gumayusi suggests is a significant challenge at this moment.

It should be noted that Gumayusi has also played a lot of Senna recently. Therefore, he understands the “boredom” of this versatile AD Carry. With T1 set to play at their “home ground” against KT, Gumayusi likely aims to deliver an impressive performance for the fans. Clearly, having a matchup between true carry champions would be exciting and highly anticipated in such a match.

Furthermore, Gumayusi has been in extremely high form lately with outstanding performances using Zeri in the LCK. Therefore, it’s likely that Gumayusi will have the upper hand against Deft in the carry matchup if it indeed happens. This could help T1 defeat KT and achieve a perfect “debut” when playing at their “home ground.”
