The Reason Gen.G Chose DK Is Not Far From Community Speculation
Recently, T1 ended their undefeated streak with a loss to FOX. This defeat was somewhat surprising as T1 had been performing well and had previously beaten FOX with a score of 2-1 in the group stage. However, in the last two seasons, FOX has consistently posed challenges for top teams. Recently, Gen.G superstar Canyon admitted that the strength of FOX was the main reason they decided not to choose this opponent in the Playoffs.

Accordingly, Canyon stated: “I remember being worried about who to choose (between FOX and DK) because I thought whoever we picked would be strong. But then, I recalled that we had a hard time winning against FOX in our recent matchup. Therefore, I chose DK.”
In fact, it has been proven that after a long break between the group stage and Playoffs, Gen.G faced some difficulties, especially in the side lanes with Kiin and Ruler. Meanwhile, these are also two strong positions for FOX at the moment. In the match against T1, it was FOX’s bot lane that completely shut down the duo of Peyz – Keria, contributing significantly to their victory. Meanwhile, Clear had several key moments that helped FOX win in team fights.

FOX Has Immense Potential to Continue Challenging Gen.G and T1
FOX is showing notable improvement compared to their performance last season. For those who may not know, FOX had no wins in the LCK Cup 2025 and was eliminated early after the group stage. This year, they are even humorously referred to by the community as the “true older brother of the Elder group” after HLE was eliminated early while DK was too unstable.

FOX is brimming with potential to continue creating surprises. In fact, if they maintain their current stable performance, they could very well be eyeing a spot at the World Championship at the end of the year.
