Chovy and His Teammates’ Easy Victory

It was thought that Hanwha Life Esports, having an extremely high performance after overwhelmingly defeating T1, could create a shock against Gen.G in the winner’s bracket final of the LCK Summer Playoffs 2024, but the reality was completely the opposite. What HLE managed to achieve was just a victory in the opening match of the two teams. At that time, HLE unexpectedly pressured fiercely while Gen.G was still out of sync. In the remaining 3 games, everything returned to normal as Chovy and his teammates demolished HLE in various and diverse ways. Ultimately, HLE had to drop down to the losers’ bracket and wait for their opponent in the DK – T1 match.

Notably, one of the best-performing players in this match was Kiin, especially in the game where he used Nasus. The champion from Shurima has emerged as a strong choice in recent metas as a solo laner. However, Nasus is also known for being less mobile and requiring time to become powerful. Therefore, effectively using Nasus is not easy. Moreover, Chovy himself stated that champions that are easier to play are harder to execute effectively. However, Kiin had a completely different observation from his teammate: “Actually, I think champions like Nasus don’t require many complicated skills to operate.”

Are Kiin’s and Chovy’s Opinions Opposed?

In reality, Kiin’s comments have some validity as Gen.G provided the best conditions for him to perform well with this champion. Kiin himself has enough focus and skill to give Nasus the best playing space. When everything goes smoothly, it’s not surprising that Kiin finds Nasus easy to operate. Furthermore, unlike Garen in Chovy’s comments, Nasus is easier to lane with and doesn’t necessarily need to participate in early skirmishes. While Garen is a good source of crowd control, he needs to be maximized, especially in teamfight situations.

In fact, Kiin’s statement can be understood that the ease of operating a champion depends a lot on oneself and the synergy with teammates. In this regard, Gen.G is currently nearly perfect as they have some of the best personnel in the LCK and the League of Legends scene in general. And these players are coordinating very well to create a Gen.G that showcases perfection in every match at the moment.
