On the afternoon of May 19, the grand final of the international tournament MSI 2024 (Mid-Season Invitational 2024) took place featuring two of the top League of Legends teams in the world, Gen.G (South Korea) and Bilibili Gaming (China). By defeating Bilibili Gaming with an overwhelming score of 3-1, Gen.G officially became the champion and the first team to secure a spot at the 2024 World Championship if they advance through the LCK Summer Split 2024.
This marks Gen.G’s first international championship title and also the first time an LCK team has reclaimed the MSI championship trophy after 7 years of missed opportunities to teams from other regions. This victory is also great news for League of Legends fans in Vietnam, as they will be the first to welcome the champions at the Meet & Greet event at Another Saigon by LG on May 25.
The event organizers stated that in addition to the opportunity to meet and interact with Gen.G, fans will also receive a gift package including a tote bag, keychain, and photo cards. Additionally, Gen.G will also be giving away 30 sports t-shirts to those who check-in at Another Saigon by LG but do not have tickets to the Meet & Greet.

Furthermore, as part of the welcoming activities for Gen.G’s arrival in Vietnam, on May 18 and 19 at Another Saigon by LG, the semifinals of the amateur tournament “Life’s Good” took place with great excitement and intensity. Eight teams led by Mai Dora and Optimus delivered spectacular and fierce matches. With a convincing victory, Team XGN became the only team to compete directly against Gen.G players.

Sharing about this victory, a representative from Team XGN said: “My teammates and I are very excited to win this tournament. This is a great opportunity for our team to face off against Gen.G, especially after they have just excellently secured victory at MSI 2024. In the coming days, we will need to practice and prepare thoroughly to compete against the players.” Additionally, XGN also mentioned that they are looking forward to exclusive training sessions from the Gen.G Global Academy before facing the players.
It can be said that “Life’s Good” is an amateur tournament organized in a structured and professional manner, bringing positive energy and a passionate competitive spirit to young Esports and League of Legends enthusiasts in Vietnam. “Thank you, LG, for bringing this tournament; our team feels like we are competing in prestigious events like VCS. We hope that in the future, there will be more high-profile tournaments for the gaming community in Vietnam,” the representative from Team XGN added.
