Gen.G CEO Continues to Hint at Controversy Over Kiin – Zeus Selection
As known, recently KeSPA announced the first lineup for the Korean LoL team participating in the upcoming ASIAD 2026. As expected, controversy erupted with fans largely unhappy with all positions except for Keria and partly Faker. However, amid dissatisfaction surrounding Canyon’s role, Gen.G’s CEO instead directed criticism toward Zeus by comparing Kiin with the HLE superstar.

First, Gen.G’s CEO asserted the “wrong selection mechanism” in a post dated 19/05 (Vietnam time). That post caused much debate, with Gen.G fans even commenting to remind that Canyon is also on the Korean LoL team.
However, not letting the matter settle, Arnold (Gen.G CEO) followed up with another post and comments on 20/05, affirming that Kiin is currently the best Top Laner in Korea but was not selected for the ASIAD roster. This statement implicitly denied that Zeus was chosen based on talent, which reignited the LoL community’s uproar and even angered Zeus’s fans.

– He himself said selections should be based on team play and that “Kiin plays for the team,” yet now he cites individual stats but “forgets” EWC 2024.
– Why do LCK CEOs like to speak on behalf of players on social media?
– Constantly asserting “Kiin is the best but wasn’t chosen,” so does that mean Zeus is less skilled but still picked?
– I understand he wants to defend players, but Canyon is on the team too.

Drama Surrounding Korean LoL Team for ASIAD Likely to Continue
Given what has happened, it is clear that the controversies will not end quickly. Ultimately, the players themselves will be the most affected.
