Rumors That “Viper Returned to Korea to Work with KeSPA” and the Truth
As is known, recently, after KeSPA announced the roster for the Korean LoL team participating in the upcoming ASIAD, numerous debates erupted within the Korean LoL community and worldwide. Among them, the position of Gumayusi, which seemed “stable and reasonable,” faced backlash from a segment of Viper’s fans. Notably, shortly after, Viper’s representatives posted a photo of him returning to Korea, fueling speculation, including from the LPL side, that the BLG player came back to “demand justice.” However, the truth has recently turned out to be completely different.

Accordingly, the first to speak on the matter was Peanut. The former HLE captain explained the rumors about his junior on stream, confirming that Viper returned to Korea simply to visit family and, more importantly, to treat a persistent hand injury. Peanut also emphasized that there was no plan for Viper to work with KeSPA to question the selection of the Korean LoL team for ASIAD.
Recently, Korean media also confirmed that Viper’s return was solely for injury treatment. Furthermore, he will miss an upcoming showmatch event, indicating that his current injury is serious.

But Discussions Around Viper and Gumayusi May Shift Direction
Nevertheless, even with Viper’s reason for returning to Korea confirmed, many conflicting opinions about Gumayusi continue to be speculated by viewers, often quite negative. Perhaps only when the Korean LoL team officially begins their ASIAD journey and eventually brings home the Gold Medal will these controversies truly end.
