In just a short time, VCS Summer 2022 will officially kick off. This will be a very special VCS season as one of the “giants” of the Vietnamese League of Legends scene – Team Flash has “vanished” after failing in the Promotion Round. Additionally, falling alongside TF is Burst The Sky Esports. The two teams replacing TF and SKY are AS Esports and Genius Esports.
While ASE’s promotion journey was somewhat “peaceful”, GE’s was much more dramatic. Specifically, in the incident between DNS Gaming and the VCS organizers, GE was inadvertently “caught in the crossfire” when it was chosen to replace DNS in the final four teams of the Promotion Round. Not long ago, GE was also accused by former player Ngô “LL” Minh Quân of “exploiting” after the promotion. However, currently, all parties have not made any further statements regarding the incident.
Recently, the Global Contract Database unexpectedly revealed that both Divkid and Slayder will be the Marksmen for GE in the upcoming Summer 2022. These two names are likely well-known to the Vietnamese League of Legends community. If Slayder is always considered one of the best Marksmen that VCS has ever produced, Divkid is a player from GAM Esports – the team that represented Vietnam to win the gold medal at SEA Games 31 and also the reigning champion of VCS Spring 2022.

If this duo of Marksmen indeed dons the GE jersey next season, the VCS rookie will be a team to watch. Though GE is a VCS B team, it is composed of members who are somewhat “familiar faces” in the highest league of the Vietnamese League of Legends scene, including jungler Yijin, former top laner of Team Secret – Coated, and Blazes. With the addition of Slayder and Divkid, GE’s lineup will be incredibly strong.
However, GE has yet to officially comment on these transfers, and the information has only recently emerged on the Global Contract Database. Therefore, VCS fans may have to wait some time for these transfers to become a reality.
