The match against KT Rolster on the afternoon of February 18 (Vietnam time) as part of the LCK Spring 2022 was highly anticipated by LCK fans in general and T1 fans in particular. Besides the reason that this is a “media showdown”, game 1 of this match also marks Faker’s milestone of 1000 games since he started his professional career. Currently in the LCK, only 2 players have reached this milestone, the other being Deft in the DRX – DK match on February 17.

With this being an important milestone, the audience, especially fans of T1 and Faker, surely hoped for a victory for T1. In addition to extending their unbeaten streak, a victory would make Faker’s record even more meaningful. At the same time, T1 would take another step closer to lifting the LCK championship trophy after a long period without success.

However, game 1 showed that KT was not an “easy prey”. The team’s players continuously camped bot, causing Gumayusi and Keria a lot of difficulties. Not to mention, Zeus was frequently targeted and often sent to split push but was repeatedly taken down by KT. However, with the advantage they gained early on, along with a focus on pushing towers, T1’s members, while causing the audience “heartache”, ultimately defeated KT and took a 1-0 lead.
Moving into game 2, Faker brought out his long-unused Ahri pick in professional matches. And when T1 played seriously, combined with Keria using his signature champion Thresh, KT simply had no chance to win. In just over 20 minutes, T1’s members easily annihilated KT and secured a 2-0 victory in this “media showdown”. With this win, T1 also extended their unbeaten streak to 9 games and finished the first half of LCK Spring 2022 with an impeccable record.
As for Faker, he had a perfect day celebrating his 1000th game milestone. With the record he just set, Faker once again proves that he is one of the greatest players in the history of the LCK and T1 in particular, as well as the entire League of Legends community. Currently, the performance of T1’s players and Faker himself is very good. Although the LCK Spring 2022 and some other tournaments have recorded many surprises, if they maintain their current stability, the domestic championship along with a spot at MSI 2022 is almost certainly within reach for Faker and his teammates.
